What This Is

The Broadcasts module in Ferbz lets salon owners send a one‑off or scheduled bulk WhatsApp message to any filtered list of Clients. Unlike the always‑on Automation journeys, a broadcast is a single, timed push that you design, preview, and launch from the Ferbaz dashboard. When the message is sent it travels through the official WhatsApp Business API (via Gupshup), so every delivery, read, and failure is recorded on the Reminders board in real time.

For a salon, a broadcast is the perfect tool to announce seasonal offers, remind Clients about limited‑time packages, or, as in this guide, fill the calendar for a specific cultural event such as Ganesh Chaturthi. You create a message using the salon’s existing WhatsApp templates, select the Clients you want to reach (for example, anyone who has not booked a colour service in the last 30 days), set the send time, and launch. Ferbz immediately deducts the required credits from your prepaid wallet – there is no hidden subscription fee, only the cost of the messages you actually send.

Because the broadcast is tied to the Clients CRM, you can see each recipient’s name, phone number, and past booking history on their profile. The Reports module later shows you how many messages were sent, delivered, and read, and you can cross‑reference that with the number of new bookings that resulted in the days after the broadcast. The whole workflow lives inside a single dashboard, replacing the need for separate email tools, spreadsheet mail‑merges, or manual WhatsApp group chats.

In short, the Ferbz Broadcasts module is a purpose‑built, compliant, and credit‑based way for UK salon owners to run a targeted Ganesh Chaturthi WhatsApp campaign that drives re‑bookings, sells expiring packages, and keeps stylists’ chairs full.

How Salon Owners Use It

Below is a step‑by‑step walkthrough of creating a Ganesh Chaturthi WhatsApp broadcast for a typical UK salon. The example uses a fictional business, Luxe Locks Salon, based in Birmingham, with 12 stylists and a client base of 3 200.

1. Prepare the Message Template

  1. From the left‑hand navigation, click AutomationTemplates.

  2. Press New Template and choose WhatsApp as the channel.

  3. Enter a clear, compliant template name, e.g. Ganesh Chaturthi Offer – 20 % off Colour.

  4. Fill the body with the exact text you will send, using placeholders that Ferbz will replace per client:

    Hi {{client.first_name}},
Celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with a fresh look! Enjoy 20 % off any colour service booked before 30 Oct. Reply “BOOK” to this message and we’ll reserve your slot.
    – Luxe Locks

  5. Save. The template is now available for any broadcast or automation journey.

2. Build the Recipient List

  1. Click Clients on the main menu.

  2. Use the filter bar at the top of the client table:

    • Last Booking Dateis before30 days ago
    • Service HistorycontainsColour (optional, if you only want to target colour‑aware clients)
    • LocationequalsBirmingham (or leave blank for all UK clients)
  3. The filtered view now shows 842 Clients who haven’t booked a colour service in the past month.

  4. Click Select AllAdd to List → name the list Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 – Colour Upsell.

3. Create the Broadcast

  1. Navigate to Broadcasts from the side panel.
  2. Click New Broadcast.
  3. In the Select List dropdown, choose the list you just created.
  4. Under Message, pick the Ganesh Chaturthi Offer – 20 % off Colour template you saved earlier.
  5. Set the Send Time. For a cultural event, timing matters – schedule the broadcast for 09:00 BST on 10 Oct 2024, the day before Ganesh Chaturthi, when clients are likely to be planning their weekend.
  6. Review the Credit Cost shown at the bottom. Ferbz calculates the cost based on the number of recipients (842) and the current WhatsApp Business API rate. Ensure your prepaid wallet has sufficient balance; if not, click Top‑up Wallet and add the required credits.

4. Launch and Monitor

  1. Press Send Now (or Schedule if you set a future time).

  2. Immediately after launch, open the Reminders board. You will see a new entry titled Ganesh Chaturthi WhatsApp broadcast for Luxe Locks. The board shows three columns:

    • Scheduled – the broadcast waiting to be sent (if you scheduled for a future time).
    • Sent – each Client that has successfully received the message.
    • Failed – any numbers that could not be delivered (e.g., invalid WhatsApp number).
  3. As the broadcast fires, the status moves from Scheduled to Sent. Any failures appear instantly, allowing you to clean up the client record (perhaps the number is outdated).

5. Track Results

  1. After the broadcast, go to ReportsMessaging Effectiveness.

  2. Filter by Date Range = 10 Oct – 17 Oct 2024 and Campaign = Ganesh Chaturthi WhatsApp broadcast.

  3. The report displays:

    • Sent: 842
    • Delivered: 791 (94 %)
    • Read: 623 (78 %)
    • Replies (“BOOK”): 57 (7 %)
  4. Switch to the Bookings tab, filter by Created Date = 10 Oct – 31 Oct and Source = WhatsApp Broadcast. You’ll see 48 new colour bookings, totalling £3 420 in revenue, directly linked to the campaign.

6. Follow Up with Automation (Optional)

If you want to nurture the 57 clients who replied “BOOK”, you can instantly enroll them in an Automation journey:

  1. In Automation, create a new flow called Colour Booking Confirmation.
  2. Set the Trigger to Instant – when a booking completes.
  3. Add a Wait of 2 hours, then a Message: “Your colour appointment is confirmed for {{booking.date}}. See you soon!”
  4. Publish. All bookings that originated from the broadcast will automatically follow this path, and the reminder clock for the next appointment will start as usual.

By staying inside Ferbz, Luxe Locks has moved from a manual spreadsheet mail‑merge to a fully tracked, credit‑based WhatsApp broadcast that drives real bookings and feeds into the existing reminder automation.

Why It Helps

Time saved: Before Ferbz, the owner of Luxe Locks would have exported the client list to Excel, copied phone numbers into a personal WhatsApp group, typed the same promotional text dozens of times, and then manually noted who replied. That process takes roughly 3 hours for a list of 800 clients. With the Broadcast module, the entire set‑up and launch takes about 45 minutes – a reduction of 75 % in labour.

Revenue recovered: In the month before the Ganesh Chaturthi broadcast, Luxe Locks recorded 12 colour bookings worth £1 080. After the broadcast, the salon booked 48 colour sessions (£3 420). That is a £2 340 increase, representing a 216 % uplift in colour‑service revenue for the campaign period.

Fewer manual errors: Manual copy‑pasting often leads to missed digits or duplicate messages. The Reminders board instantly flags any failed deliveries (e.g., 51 numbers) so the owner can update client records, eliminating the guesswork of “who didn’t get the message?”.

Better compliance: All messages are sent through the official WhatsApp Business API, meaning the salon complies with UK data‑protection rules and WhatsApp’s commercial messaging policies. No QR‑code work‑arounds or personal‑number hacks are involved, reducing the risk of account bans.

Integrated re‑booking: Because the broadcast ties directly into the Automation and Reminders modules, any client who books after the broadcast automatically enters the standard appointment‑reminder flow. This closes the loop on the core pain point of clients forgetting to re‑book, turning a one‑off promotion into a sustainable pipeline of repeat appointments.

Overall, the Broadcasts module converts a seasonal marketing idea into a measurable, credit‑controlled campaign that directly addresses the two biggest frustrations for UK salon owners: missed re‑bookings and the administrative burden of manual outreach.

Questions you may have
01

Can I send a broadcast to clients who have never opted‑in to WhatsApp messages?

A: Ferbz only allows broadcasts to phone numbers that have previously interacted with your salon via WhatsApp or have explicitly opted in through a sign‑up form. If a client’s number is not marked as “opt‑in” in their profile, the broadcast will be blocked and shown as a failure on the Reminders board.

02

How do I know how many credits a broadcast will cost before I send it?

A: When you compose the broadcast, Ferbz displays a credit estimate based on the number of recipients selected. The estimate updates instantly if you add or remove filters, so you can adjust the list until the cost fits your prepaid wallet balance.

03

What happens if a client replies “BOOK” to the broadcast?

A: Replies are delivered to the salon’s WhatsApp Business inbox. You can manually create the booking in the **Billing** module, or, as shown in the example, set up an Automation journey that triggers on a “booking completed” event to send a confirmation and start the reminder clock.

04

Can I schedule the broadcast for a different time zone, for example if I have clients in Scotland?

A: The send time is always interpreted in the salon’s local time zone as set in the Ferbz account settings. If you have stylists operating across the UK, schedule the broadcast at a time that works for the majority of your client base (e.g., 09:00 BST works for England, Wales, and Scotland).

05

Is there any limit on how many messages I can send in a single broadcast?

A: Ferbz does not impose a hard cap on broadcast size; the only limitation is the amount of credit in your prepaid wallet. Large lists will simply consume more credits, which are deducted at the moment the broadcast is launched. ---
